![]() ![]() Key phrase here is pulling all kinds of stuff. There are MILLIONS of Pickup trucks out there with the same exhaust that came out of the factory pulling all kinds of stuff. He's a city boy that doesn't know much about trucks or livestock. I guess these guys are doing it wrong? I'll tell 'em you said so.ĭon't mind him. Every day I see at least one horse trailer being pulled. Thats to bad because diesel has been cheaper than gas longer than it has been more expensive.Īround here PLENTY of pick up trucks (duallies) are used on the farm. Not that it brings exhaust down onto the animals. I dont like paying an extra dollar for fuel to not pull anything. When your pulling a heavy load, and the engine is under load (uphill), the temp rises pretty fast in the cylinders, if it goes over about 1500 degrees, the meltdown starts, a restrictive exhaust system keeps the hot gasses in the cylinders even longer, making the temp rise faster.Īnd for what its worth, I dont own a diesel. Why would you want exhaust blowing directly on your animals?Īnd as for melting pistons, the real dumbasses are the guys who go out and buy a brand new diesel pickup and dont use it to pull anything, they just like paying an extra dollar a gallon for fuel.ĭiesel melt down can be a real problem if you pull alot and have a chip (More fuel delivery). I swear to God the entertainment value of this website makes the membership fee the bargain of a lifetime!ĭo we want the exhaust ON the animals or OFF the animals?Īnd if melting pistons is such a major problem, why aren't ALL trucks equipped with this mechanical miracle? ![]() Exhaust off animals, and also keeps exhaust exiting fast enough so you dont melt some pistons. ![]()
